Oil Buying

For the Domestic User

Kerosene, also known as "28 sec Burning Oil" or "Heating Oil", is used by 95% of all users for home heating. Until recently Kerosene was water white in colour but now has a Euro II marker which makes it a light straw colour. Topanol can be added to kerosene to assist a cleaner burn, used as a mix of 1 litre to every 1000 litres.

Premium Paraffin is mainly used for table lamps and burners or by customers with Aga or Rayburn stoves as it burns virtually soot free.

For the Commercial User

For Commercial needs, in addition to Kerosene and Premium Paraffin, products on offer are: 35 sec. Gas Oil and ULSD (Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel)

Gas Oil is used mainly for agricultural machinery and heavy plant, but is also used to heat factories, greenhouses and nursing homes.

Kerosene is used to heat offices greenhouses and nursing homes.

ULSD is used by the transport and distribution industries and is available not only by bulk but also through a nationwide fuel card system.
