Don't order Additives 'til you've spoken to us.

Even though we only supply first class fuels refined to strict quality standards (BS2869) we are sometimes asked if the performance of the products we deliver, or the emissions of the equipment using it, could be enhanced with additives.

You can get fuel additives for your car, your lorry, your boiler, your tank, and even your cooker. With so many fuel additives available for different applications its’ difficult to know which one you should buy, or if you should buy them at all?

Additives for Domestic Heating Oil Customers

CPS Fuels offer two different heating oil additives which are designed and formulated to increase the efficiency of your boiler or cooker, improve your storage tank's conditions and reduce potential service problems.  Environmental awareness calls for the maintenance of fuel quality, and these additives can aid performance, reduce emissions, as well as increasing the fuel’s shelf life.

Some OFTEC engineers thus recommend using Topanol in Agas (Vapourising burners) or a Premium Heating Oil Additive in a domestic pressure jet boiler to promote better fuel efficiency that will in turn help lower your fuel consumption and your CO2 emissions. 

We can supply either Topanol or Exocet Premium Heating Oil Additive and mix it in with your order of Kerosene when we make your delivery. If you would like your delivery to be dosed with an additive then please select it online or mention it when you ordering your fuel.

Fuel Tank Treatments

With the increasing use of FAME and bio components in modern fuels, the need to ensure that the storage system is managed, clean and free of the 'diesel bug' has never been greater. CPS Fuels recommend using Biocides and Preservatives as part of this process.

The first sign of microbiological contamination (‘diesel bug’) is often continuous blocking of filters with a slimy substance, which can range in colour from black to light brown.

Anti-Bug Kill is used to tackle current and immediate microbiological infestation whilst Anti-Bug Protect is used to inhibit microbiological activity in clean tanks.

  • Eliminates plugging of filters and gauges
  • Protects against tank and pipe corrosion

Dosage & Advice

Additives with biocides can protect and preserve fuel against bugs.

Both additives can be used in bulk fuel storage or added directly into a vehicle or machine fuel tank as either part of a one off batch treatment or as part of a continuous additive dosing regime.
